Privacy Notice

For SHIPE‐STC Cooperation GmbH, Altenburger Strasse 63, 08396 Waldenburg, Germany (“SHIPE‐STC”, “we” or “us“), the protection of personal data has a high priority. With this privacy notice, we inform the visitors of the website https://shipe-stc.com (the “Website”) about the processing of their personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, in particular the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – “GDPR“), and their related rights.

1.Responsibility for data processing 

SHIPE‐STC as controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is responsible for the lawful processing of the data of the visitors.

2. Processed data and processing purposes 

2.1 Usage data 

When accessing the Website, various data about the accessing system is automatically processed, which is necessary for the use of the Website. Without their processing, the website cannot be used. This includes the type of browser used, the browser version used, the operating system used, the website from which this Website is accessed, the individual device identifier of the visitor, the date and time of access to the Website, the Internet Protocol address (IP address), the Internet service provider and comparable data.

The provision of these data is necessary for the use of the Website.

We process the above-mentioned personal data (“usage data“) in order to make the Website accessible, and, by means of so-called log files, to detect and resolve any technical problems that may occur, and to prevent and, if necessary, prosecute any misuse of the Website. In addition, we anonymize the usage data in order to use it in an anonymized form, i.e. without the possibility of identifying the visitor, for statistical purposes. The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in the proper and secure provision of the Website and the collection of statistical information about its use.

2.2 Contact form data

SHIPE-STC offers visitors the opportunity to contact SHIPE-STC via a contact form. The data transmitted in this context, in particular the name of the person seeking contact, the e-mail address provided and the content and date of the contact request, is used to process the respective requests.

If it is necessary to process the visitors’ requests, their data will be forwarded to the responsible organizational units within SHIPE-STC. The legal basis for processing the data described above is or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in all other cases, as we have a legitimate interest in the proper processing of inquiries.

2.3 Use of cookies 

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies (for the purposes of this privacy notice, we refer to these technologies individually and collectively as “cookies“). Cookies are small text files that are stored on the visitor’s disk and exchange data with our system. A cookie usually contains the name of the domain from which the cookie data were sent, as well as information about the age of the cookie and an alphanumeric identification code.

Cookies enable us to make the Website appealing to visitors and make it easier to use. We use the following types of cookies:

3.Functional Cookies: If visitors have given their consent, these cookies remember choices they make (such as the visitors’ name, language, or the region they are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. 3. Recipients of the data of the visitors 

For certain technical processes of data analysis, processing or storage, we use the support of external service providers. These service providers are carefully selected and meet high data protection and data security standards. They are bound by strict confidentiality and process data only on our behalf and according to our instructions. The legal basis for the involvement of these service providers is Art. 28 GDPR.

We cooperate with companies and other entities that have special expertise in certain areas or on specific topics (e.g. tax auditors, lawyers, consulting firms, logistics service providers). These entities are either subject to a professional secrecy obligation or have been obliged by us to confidentiality. If a transfer of personal data to these entities should be necessary, the legal basis for this is usually Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in using the support of these entities.

Except in the cases explained in this privacy notice, we only disclose personal data of the visitors without the express consent of the visitors to third parties if we are obliged or entitled to do so by law or by official or court order.

4. Storage duration 

We store visitors’ personal data only as long as it is necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which we collected them, including the purposes of fulfilling legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When determining the appropriate retention period for data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process visitors’ personal data, and whether we can achieve those purposes by other means, as well as the applicable legal requirements. The longest period is generally 10 years (retention period according to § 147 German Tax Code (Abgabenordnung) for tax-relevant documents).

Usage data are generally only stored until the respective session has ended or, in case of log files, for up to 180 days.

5. Automated decision making 

An automated decision making in the sense of Art. 22 GDPR does not take place.

6. Rights of the visitors 

Visitors who wish to obtain information about the processing of personal data concerning them or a copy of the same can contact us at any time under the conditions of Article 15 GDPR. If visitors find that personal data stored about them is incorrect or incomplete, they can request the correction or completion of this data under the conditions of Article 16 GDPR. Under the conditions specified in Articles 17 and 18 GDPR, visitors can also request the deletion or restriction of the processing of their data. They can also request, under the conditions set out in Article 20 GDPR, to receive the data that they have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format or, as far as technically feasible, that this data be transferred to a third party.

Visitors also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Visitors can revoke any consent given in the sense of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR at any time with effect for the future.

Finally, visitors have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to the processing of data concerning them, which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override the interests, rights and freedoms of the visitors, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

7. Change of ownership and control 

If we are acquired by another company or merged with another company, cease business or go into bankruptcy, sell part of our or all assets, visitors’ personal data may be disclosed, sold or transferred as part of the transaction. If such an event occurs, the legal basis for the processing of visitors’ personal data in this context is generally Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If a separate consent has been obtained, this consent in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR is the relevant legal basis.
